Course Objectives
The purpose of this course is to assist staff to make purposeful observations that are linked to the areas of learning and the early learning goals. It helps staff to understand their role, which is
sometimes difficult as staff never see the end result as this is done in schools. Making purposeful observations will enable staff to accurately assess children and put in place any plans to assist
and enhance children’s development.
The course will reflect the new 2014 guides and handbook and is compatible with both written profiles and/or electronic profiles. The course also assists staff to use children’s interests in planning
activities to help them learn.
